How do I play archives without downloading them?
Apple
  1. Install Mega or Google Drive.
  2. Go to the HBNI archive and select a recording.
  3. The link opens in Mega / Google Drive.
  4. Play the audio directly (streaming) without downloading.
Android

Same idea:

  1. Install Mega or Google Drive.
  2. Use the HBNI archive to select the broadcast.
Windows (Computer)

Click any archive on the HBNI archive. You'll be redirected to mega.nz or Google Drive.

Where are the archives stored?
2022-07-12 to 2023-07-21

Stored on mega.nz. Access: Mega folder.

2023-07-21 to 2023-07-29

Stored on Google Drive. Access: Drive folder.

2023-07-29 to today

Stored on our servers in Pineland Colony (metadata in Postgres). Download link data: download_links.json.

Why are you using both Mega and Google Drive?

Mega was fastest to start with. Storage limits forced a switch to Google Drive while it was supported by HBNI.

Why not migrate the entire database over to Google Drive?

Mega didn't provide an easy, reliable migration path, and upload formats changed over time. Migrating risked breaking links or losing consistency.

Why stop using Google Drive?

Google didn't allow permanent access tokens, which required frequent manual token refreshes.

I want to remove a broadcast on the archive.

Please submit a Support Ticket and include:

  • Host / colony name
  • Date and time (approximate is okay)
  • Recording title (if visible)
  • Why it should be removed
  • The link to the recording (if you have it)
I don't want any of my broadcasts on the archive and never be recorded.

Please submit a Support Ticket and include:

  • The exact host / colony name (spelling matters)
  • Whether this should apply permanently
  • Any alternate host names you might have used in the past

The recorder can exempt specific hosts from being recorded—use the same host name each time.

Why is the broadcast not finished or missing?

Internet connection issues during recording can lead to incomplete uploads.

How long does it take to upload archives?

Usually within 5 minutes (depends on broadcast length). Manual uploads may take longer if issues occur.

How do I make a private broadcast?

On the broadcasting page, enable the private checkbox. Private broadcasts aren't listed on the listeners page or archived, but the host can share the link and save it after ending.

How do I schedule an event?

Scheduling requires a password. Please submit a Support Ticket and request scheduling access. Include your colony name and why you need access.
